Zılbıt grass, which is gathered in high places in Zonguldak and known as the harbinger of spring, is a rootless plant that grows in the mountainous and humid lands of the Black Sea and is famous for its taste. This grass, which is one of the important livelihoods of the villagers in February and March, grows spontaneously in moist and soft soil in forests, and when it first appears, it becomes tender and soft. If the residues are buried in the soil while extracting, it will grow there as well.

Zılbıt, which is a type of vegetable that grows abundantly in Zonguldak, known as borage, sill grass, deaf tongue, and blackberry in various regions, is also made in various ways. The herb has a slippery structure like okra and hibiscus, so it relaxes the digestive system and activates the intestines. It is said that the soldiers who went to war in ancient times also used this herb because it is said to relieve the troubles and increase the courage. Be you, don't go from Zonguldak without eating Ispıt at the beginning of spring.
